This Grade II Listed cottage is situated in the pretty village of Wrentham, a five minute drive from the unspoilt beach of Cove Hithe on the Suffolk Heritage Coast and just ten minutes away from the Edwardian seaside town of Southwold.
Dressmaker's is full of character and has been renovated whilst retaining a wealth of original features in fireplaces, exposed beams and oak flooring. With four bedrooms, this spacious cottage is ideal for a large family or group of friends wishing to enjoy a short break or longer holiday not far from the coast.
The cottage features a large, open plan kitchen/dining area with dining table to seat nine as well as a lovely lounge with cosy wood-burner. On the first floor, there are two double bedrooms, a bunk bedded room and family bathroom. A second staircase leads to an attic bedroom with three single beds. Please note that due to the age of the cottage, there are steps and changes of level between some of the rooms and some of the doorways are lower than modern doorways.
Outside, there is off-road parking for two cars and a pretty mature garden and garden house/cabin with sofas and TV.
2 x 3-seater sofas.
TV, Netflix and Freeview, DVD, music centre, board games.
Table and chairs seating 9.
Gas range (cooker and hob), dishwasher, fridge and separate freezer, microwave, toaster.
Washing machine and tumble dryer.
Iron and ironing board.
Bath with hand held shower, separate shower cubicle, WC and hand basin.
2 double bedrooms, 1 with king-sized bed.
Attic bedroom with 3 single beds.
There is off-road parking for two cars at Dressmaker's Cottage. The driveway with a slight incline and a large hedge at the front of the garden provide shelter from the main road which runs through the village. (This is the A12 but the speed limit is 30mph).
In addition there is a spacious wooden garden house, the 'cabin', which has sofas and TV. To the rear of the cabin is an area of land (not owned by the property) where there are very friendly goats and sheep.
The enclosed garden is well planted and mature with a brick and cobbles patio area facing south west, with attractive garden furniture and is ideal for outside entertaining.
Wrentham is a delightful village close to Southwold on the Suffolk Heritage Coast and with a good range of amenities including a village shop and post office, two pubs serving good food and fish and chip shop and Chinese takeaway. The unspoilt beach at Cove Hive is just a five minute drive away and a further five minutes by car will take you to the renowned coastal town of Southwold, with its sandy beach, colourful beach huts, iconic pier and lighthouse and a great selection of restaurants, pubs and shops as well as the Adnams Brewery.
There is WiFi at the cottage
Bed linen, towels and energy costs are all included. Gas central heating, supplemented by the wood burner. One small basket of logs is provided on arrival for the wood-burner during the winter months (November-March)

Dressmakers Cottage was pretty perfect for our New Year family gathering of 6 adults and 4 children. A warm, cosy, quirky cottage, delightfully decorated and plenty of space for us - and three cars to park. Kids loved the "cabin" which they decided was their clubhouse, perfect for computer games on the big screen. The cottage was well equipped and well situated for trips out, especially to delightful Southwold. Minor niggles - only one bathroom but it had two showers in it and there were three toilets; A12 could be a bit noisy from the early hours although fortunately we were there during the major Christmas holiday season so it was relatively quiet. If you don't mind a bit of traffic noise, then we can heartily recommend this cottage.
Really pleased with the cottage- overall lovely and equipped. Very happy with our stay. The six ring burner was fabulous- made cooking Christmas dinner much easier than we thought it would be. A very cosy cottage and the fire was amazing- although one basket of logs was a bit of a let down, but we went to Morrison's and loaded up going through 12 bags in the week.
Lovely house, great location and local shop and chip shop. Children really enjoyed talking to Dandy the pony at the bottom of the garden each morning too! The House was dusty and could do with a washing line outside and some more frying pans.
