With fantastic access to the Suffolk Coast, this petite but practical self-catering accommodation for two is set in the popular village of Wangford situated just a 10 minute drive from Southwold, making this a real treat for your next Suffolk Stay. This self-contained space oozes cool with its stylish décor; you’ll spot something new each time you look around!

If you’re looking for a couples getaway then you might just have found it. The Old Bakehouse is ideal for two. Step inside this tucked away abode and you enter into the kitchen/living area which is an open plan space with kitchen area and ample choice of seating. The kitchen is fitted with a combined microwave/steamer oven, toaster, kettle, sink, fridge, induction hob, and integrated washing machine. For those evenings that you want to sink into the sofa, you’ll find TV and radio to allow you to relax, as well as dedicated wi-fi. The shower room with WC, basin and shower is just off this room. To the rear of The Old Bakehouse is the cute and quirky bedroom… and what a fantastic space to wake up in this is! The outlook from the bed is towards the French door and your own garden space, so pull open those curtains and enjoy the gorgeous view out into the private courtyard garden which is full of gorgeous plants and trees. The bedroom truly has the perfect spot for lazy mornings, where you can appreciate the garden view with a cup of tea in bed.

Being located in the pretty village of Wangford makes this bolthole ideal for those looking to explore coast and countryside. Perhaps you’re a keen birdwatcher? The A12 provides easy access to local attractions with just a 20 minute drive South, to the RSPB Minsmere Nature Reserve and Carlton Marshes to the north. What’s more, you also have the Suffolk coast nearby which means that walking, cycling and beach swims can all be on the agenda. If you wish to bring your bicycle, there is a secure bike shed is the garden.

What we love about this property? It really is as quirky as they come and as soon as you walk , you’ll be struck by this properties welcoming and homely interior. The icing on the cake is the beautiful courtyard garden accessed through the bedroom door – it’s the perfect spot for a glass of wine alfresco.

The property is all ground floor, however please note that there are two steps down into the property, a small step down to the bedroom and also 3 steps from the bedroom to the courtyard garden. The courtyard garden has stepped access to different levels.

GROUND FLOOR
Kitchen/sitting/dining room: Cleverly zoned space with Kitchen: comprising of microwave/ oven, induction hob, sink, toaster, kettle, fridge, integrated washing machine, iron, ironing board, and clothes airer. Sitting Room: Soft seating, TV, radio, books. Dining: Bar style area and stools for dining.
Shower Room: shower with bifold door, heated towel rail, w.c. and basin.
Bedroom : Standard 4ft double bed (accessed one side only), shelf space, mirrors, clothes hanging space, chair, side table. Door out to courtyard garden. Three steps lead from the bedroom to the courtyard – please take care, especially in the winter months as these can get slippery.

Outside: courtyard garden on multiple levels, stepped access throughout leading downwards. A very pretty space filled with plants and trees. Bistro table and chairs for two and garden furniture. Garden rugs and cushions stored in white “Sentry Box” shed, and secure bike shed for visitors’ use.

Parking: Some street parking is available and guests may unload outside Number 29.  Large layby for opposite No 29 for parking.  Pedestrian access only from High Street to The Old Bakehouse., guests can unload outside number 29 High Street, however there is a layby opposite which can be used for parking.

Pets: Sorry, no pets allowed.
Heating: Electric heating.  
Notes: Wifi, bed , towels and robes provided. Please note, that although this is a ground floor property it has steps down into the property, a small step into the bedroom, and again larger steps into and throughout the garden.

Wangford is only three miles from the beaches and from Southwold town centre, yet within easy access of the A12 and the many other attractions of the Heritage Coast. There is a good village shop, a farm shop and the popular local pub The Plough Inn, with restaurant serving good local food, much recommended by past guests.
