This beautiful cottage has been in the owners' family for generations and is a much loved family home. With exposed beams and brickwork, a cosy sitting room with wood-burning stove and sea views from several of the upstairs bedrooms, The Thatched cottage is a charming holiday retreat in a wonderful coastal location.
The cottage is situated in the idyllic village of Walberswick which has a fascinating history with links to the Arts and Crafts movement of the late 19th century and a thriving artistic community in the village and surrounding area today.
This spacious holiday home has a contemporary style whilst staying true to its Arts and Crafts origins. It sleeps eight people comfortably in five bedrooms, together with a bathroom, two shower rooms, sitting room, dining area and galley kitchen.
Outside you will find an enclosed pretty garden with a footpath at the left of the cottage leading to the beach via the countryside route. There is also off-street parking for three to four cars.

Dining area: Dining table and seating for eight people, glazed door to garden.

Bedroom 4: Double bedroom, king sized bed, oak bed frame with storage drawers under, bedside tables and lamps, wardrobe, table and mirror, sea views.
Shower room: Shower cubicle, WC and hand basin.
Outside: Cottage garden with lawn and mature shrubs and trees, together with a sunken terrace with a stunning slate table and chairs and sheltered loggia against the house. There is a firepit in the rear of the garden along with a barbeque which is perfect guests to enjoy the lovely garden on summer evenings.
Notes: The cottage has WiFi, Superfast Fibre Broadband, Blue Ray DVD and Smart TV. There is also a Playstation 4. Bed linen and towels provided. One small basket of logs is provided on arrival in the winter months for the wood burning stove in the sitting room (November-March).
Heating: The cottage has electric underfloor heating on the ground floor plus storage radiators upstairs and on the ground floor which will be switched on for arrivals in the colder months.
Parking: There is gated private parking for three cars

The Thatched Cottage is within easy walking distance of all that makes Walberswick special: the beach, the River Blyth and the rowing boat ferry (in high season), wonderful walks and cycle paths over the river to Southwold or further afield to Dunwich, together with two excellent pubs within walking distance, a variety of tea rooms and other shops selling a wide range of products plus a well stocked grocery shop. The cottage is ideal, either for family beach holidays, couples or groups of friends planning to visit the Suffolk Heritage Coast to walk, cycle, play golf or just to relax and explore this pretty village and the iconic seaside town of Southwold.

This old thatched village house feels like a home rather than a holiday let. The pictures, vases and sculptures, plus large comfy sofas in the sitting room with well equipped kitchen make it feel lived-in. The four upstairs bedrooms are simple and pleasant. The downstairs bedroom (nice and peaceful for grandparents) is spacious. A spacious garden with lawn, shrubs and trees gives plenty of running about space. The location is great: a few minutes walk to the beach, two minutes from the excellent Black Dog deli and a few yards further is the Co-op village shop with a good range of stock. Would definitely stay again.
