Description

Roof Tree is a fantastic family holiday home just 10 minutes from the beach in the pretty coastal village of Walberswick. This contemporary house has a Scandinavian style with stripped pine floorboards, strong feature colours, vintage furniture and stylish simplicity.

A feature of the house is a light and spacious open plan kitchen/dining/living area with a wall of double-glazed glass and doors opening out on to the veranda and garden. This area accommodates a dining room table, sofa and two additional chairs, a wood-burning stove and a hand-built kitchen. There is also an island unit with eight stools, creating a further eating area and a great place to socialise at any time of the day. Another outstanding feature is the zinc worktop which was chosen to recreate the atmosphere of a Parisian bar. A further door leads to the garden and utility area. The ground-floor wet room is situated off the kitchen.

An additional sitting room at the front of the house is furnished with vintage armchairs, sofa, cosy wood burner and a flat screen Digital TV and DVD player.

Upstairs are three double bedrooms (one with ensuite shower room), a further bedroom with adult sized bunk beds and a spacious family bathroom.

At the front of the holiday cottage, the gravel parking area is small but will accommodate two medium-sized cars. The large garden to the rear is private and enclosed by walls with many matures trees and shrubs, ideal if you choose to bring your dog with you on holiday.

Ground-floor wetroom: walk-in shower with double-headed shower head, WC and hand basin.
Family bathroom: shower over bath, WC and hand basin with mirror over.
Ensuite: shower with double-headed shower head, WC and hand basin.  

Bedrooms:
Three double bedrooms all with King size beds and one bunk-bedded room. The master bedroom has an ensuite shower room,  The bunk bedded room has two adult-size bunk beds. All bedrooms have bed side tables and lamps, a chest of drawers, with hanging space provided by either built in wardrobes or hanging rails .

Outside:
Enclosed garden, laid to lawn with decking and veranda.

Storage for bikes.
Off road parking for two cars, plus on-street parking.

The area:

Roof Tree is in a superb location with plenty to keep all of the family occupied. There are some wonderful walks - head along Walberswick's pretty shingle beach then back through the reed beds, a haven for birds and wildlife. The village green plays host to two friendly dining pubs, a cafe, children's play area and gift shops, while a trip across the River Blyth offers up the many attractions of Southwold.

 

Notes:

Bed linen, towels and all energy costs are included. The cottage is centrally heated with two additional wood-burning stoves. A small basket of logs will be provided for guests arriving in the winter months (November-March).

A cot and highchair are provided but are used at guests' own risk and may be removed at any time without prior warning if deemed unsafe to use by the owner. No linen is provided for the cot. 

Two well-behaved dogs are welcome, but please make sure they do not go on the furniture or upstairs. Please also ensure you 'scoop the poop'. 

Please note: Internet connection in Walberswick can be very slow.
