Bring together friends and family in this large family home on the Suffolk coast. The property, which sleeps ten guests, is in the heart of Southwold and is just 0.5 miles from its iconic pier and sandy beach. The holiday home has two reception rooms, as well as a fabulous secluded garden with a choice of areas for outdoor entertaining.
This spacious Victorian villa boasts large rooms with high ceiling, and the delicate decor creates a calm and relaxed ambience throughout. The elegant lounge retains many original features, and is a cosy place to unwind in the glow of the wood burner. There’s also a peaceful drawing room, for relaxing with a good book. The bright and inviting farmhouse-style kitchen/diner is a sociable space, where you can rustle up home-cooked meals for the group to share around the large wooden table. Two double bedrooms and a wet room are located on the ground floor, with the remaining bedrooms upstairs (one of which has an en-suite bathroom). Outside, the garden is enclosed and has a lawn for children to play on, along with a terrace and BBQ for al fresco dining. There’s also a wooden gazebo with comfortable furniture – the perfect place to chill out on a summer’s afternoon.
Southwold is a family favourite, with its glorious sandy beach, lively pier, and colourful beach huts. Spend your days building sandcastles and playing in the sea, before heading into the town for a bite to eat in one of the many independent cafes or restaurants. In summer, a foot ferry takes you across the water to the picturesque village of Walberswick, where you can explore the cute craft and gift shops and join the locals for a spot of crabbing from the bridge.
