Description

Simply stunning… Montague House oozes coastal style, right on the High Street, close to the beach. The beautiful former family home of George Orwell is awesome!

This Southwold holiday home has been lovingly restored and updated to offer excellent self catering holiday accommodation. Montacute House has four bedrooms accommodating eight guests and offers flexible accommodation. The kitchen is well equipped with modern appliances and the cosy sitting room has three comfortable sofas, a lovely place to relax after a busy day on beach with the kids. It’s here in this traditional brick built property that Orwell himself lived from time to time and, notably in 1935 when he wrote 'A Clergyman's Daughter'. This literary retreat is a fabulous family holiday home on the Suffolk coast, complete with high quality furnishings and awash with home comforts.

A holiday in Southwold is on everyone’s wish list - you can’t miss the iconic lighthouse, pier and pretty beach huts… the food is something special too with some of the best fresh fish around!

If you’re looking to stay somewhere special… this is it! Montague House is a great option for family or friends looking for a stylish holiday cottage in Southwold.
