Description

Pretty in pink ...newly renovated in 2018...

This lovely pink washed fisherman's cottage has a wonderful location in Southwold, just one minute's walk to the sandy beach and with lovely views of both the sea and Southwold Lighthouse. Sleeping four guests, Hiraeth is ideal for couples and family holidays on the Suffolk Coast throughout the year.

In the heart of Southwold, Hiraeth is in the older part of this seaside town on St James's Green and looks out on to traditional fishermen's' cottages, with the Sole Bay Inn and the confectionary shop at 1 St James's Green close by.  The cottage has been sympathetically renovated to offer a bright, modern, open plan living/dining/kitchen room downstairs and two bedrooms and two bathrooms, one bathroom on the ground floor and a stylish en-suite shower room off the master bedroom.

Accommodation:
Entrance into the sitting/dining room/kitchen
Sitting area with a two seater sofa and 2 arm chairs, TV with Freeview, and Blue-ray DVD, lamps and coffee tables and ornamental fireplace.

Kitchen/Dining area with gate legged table and chairs for four guests, generous wall cupboards, electric cooker, induction hob with extractor hood, dishwasher, freestanding fridge freezer, toaster, kettle. Washer/dryer.  Patio doors to courtyard.

Bathroom: bath with electric shower over, large hand basin, WC, tiled floor and walls, electric towel rail, underfloor heating.

Stairs to first floor: please be aware that the stairs are steep; there are two good hand rails.

Bedroom 1: Master bedroom with double bed, hanging cupboard, bedside tables and lamps, window with view of Southwold Lighthouse.

En-suite shower room accessed via the main bedroom with spacious walk-in double shower, large hand basin, wc, mirrored wall cupboard, heated towel rail and underfloor heating.

Bedroom 2: Twin bedded room, bedside table and lamp, range of built-in cupboards, drawers and clothes hanging facility, ornamental fireplace.

Outside:
Courtyard with table and chairs and climbing plants on rear wall.

There is unallocated free parking outside the cottage and in bays around St James' Green, as well as along the promenade side of North Road.

Notes:

Bed linen and towels are provided.

The cottage has gas central heating and both the bath and shower rooms have underfloor heating.

The cottage has wi-fi.

One small dog is permitted, but please adhere to the 'house rules': Pets are not allowed on the furniture nor upstairs in the bedrooms and must not be left alone in the cottage.

... and in case you are wondering about the name of the Cottage, Hiraeth is a Welsh word that has no direct English translation but it encompasses the bond one feels with one's home country when away from it or a spiritual connection to a long forgotten sense of something that is deep in your being, at times triggered by the present, a deja vu moment in time.

Reviews

Stylishly and recently refurbished while keeping a cottage feel especially in the front bedroom. Lots of little details. Excellent location for walks to the pier, to the harbour or inland. Very near to nice shops, the two magpies bakery and the little fish shop.

Past Customer,

A really cosy and very well appointed cottage- we've had glorious weather and watched a full moon over the sea.
