The Hideaway is a true 'Heritage Hideaway' located off the beaten track in the heart of Southwold but a short walk to the beach, shops, pubs and restaurants of this Edwardian seaside town.
Dating back to 1883 and originally a fisherman's cottage, The Hideaway has been renovated to a very high standard, blending contemporary style with period features.The cottage offers a pretty holiday home for up to five people with the luxury of two bathrooms, a paved courtyard garden and the all important parking space for one car, making it ideal for a group of friends or a family to enjoy a traditional seaside holiday.
Entrance into the living area: newly fitted kitchen with gas oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment. Dining table and chairs for five, three seater sofa, 'cuddle' chair and armchair, table and standard lamps and coffee table. Windows overlooking paved courtyard garden. The living area has a Smart TV with Netflix and Freeview, a radio and ipod dock are provided.
Utility room: with sink and draining board, washing machine, coat hooks and good storage. Door to single bedroom.
Bedroom 1: single bedroom on the ground floor with alcove with hanging space and chest of drawers.
Stairs to First Floor:
Bedroom 2: Master bedroom with double bed and ensuite shower room: with WC and handbasin, heated towel rail and attractive feature wall. Chest of drawers and hanging space, bedside tables and lamps. The bedrooms have polished wooden floors with rugs and have the original decorative fireplaces in each room. Please note : The third bedroom is accessed by walking through the Master bedroom.
Bedroom 3: Twin bedroom with zip and link beds which can be made into a king size bed, chest of drawers, wardrobe, hanging cupboard and bedside tables and lamps, armchair. *Please indicate in booking notes whether you would like a twin or king size bed*
Bathroom: family bathroom with full size bath and shower over with screen and tiled walls, WC and hand basin, mirror and heated towel rail and sun tunnel for additional light.
Outside: paved courtyard with plants in containers, garden furniture and parking space for one medium sized car. There are solid gates to the courtyard which can be closed and locked to make this area secure. Guests are asked to park only one car in the courtyard and other cars to be parked in the Cumberland Road and the surrounding streets where parking is unrestricted and free.
Notes:The cottage has WiFi and has gas central heating. Bed linen and towels are provided with the duvets and pillows are a mix of feather and synthetic . A cot and high chair are also available at the property.

Southwold has a wide variety of entertainment for all the family from the beach and the awarding-winning Southwold Pier, a boating lake with superb cafe, two golf courses - a mini pitch and put and a grown up, nine hole golf course, tennis courts, a surf school, local independent shops and of course, the Adnams Brewery and pubs which offer tours of the Brewery and Gin Distillery. There are also a wealth of superb places to eat from beach cafes to excellent restaurants.
Southwold and the surrounding area also offer great walking and cycling opportunities and beyond the town is a wide variety of pretty towns and villages, events and attractions for all the family from Easton Farm Park to Africa Alive, the castle towns of Framlingham, Bungay, Norwich and Orford, music festivals large and small, from rock to classical!

Beautiful property in a great location. It was a very comfortable cottage, well updated whilst retaining its character and having everything you needed. The outdoor space was a bonus, as was the parking. We had a great week thanks, would love to come back!
