Description

number six, 6 East Cliff

This charming sea-front property has been lovingly restored and holds a wealth of history dating back to 1904. Once a Harbour Pilot's lodge and then an artist's retreat, number six has been renovated by the next generation of the same family who have owned it for 100 years. They have created a comfortable and stylish environment perfect for couples or a small family who are looking for a place to unwind, relax and escape the frenetic pace of modern life.

This pretty cottage, which is all on one level, commands a stunning position on East Cliff overlooking Southwold beach, with fabulous views from every room in the property.

The renovations successfully capture the intrinsic character of the original cottage and the decor celebrates the property's history with many original features and artefacts still in place throughout.

Reviews

Excellent location, Southwold is a lovely town and perfect for the New Year break. Lovely cottage and perfect views out to sea.

Mr White,

A loving and thoughtful present from a very special friend. Such a beautiful place to stay- speechless at the view, sat in the kitchen. Though cold, the weather has been kind to us. Night cap in 'The Lord Nelson' a bonus! Will definitely be back.

Sue and Colin,

Another wonderful stay at No.6. Weather was perfect and the sound of those waves to wake up to in the morning PERFICK! Had a lovely day out to Aldeburgh and had a super lunch at Brudenell Hotel and to top the day off, we popped into Thorpeness and what a magical place- you shouldn't come to a part of this world without a visit. Fantastic fish and chips from ' The Little Fish and Chip Shop'. Fabulous, can't wait to come back.

Mr K,

What a beautiful cottage to stay at! We've had the pleasure of spending two weeks at No.6 for our honeymoon and we couldn't have asked for a better view, location and facilities. We have loved every minute here, that we have booked it for our first anniversary. Hearing the waves and looking out at the stunning coastal views has definitely been our favourite parts of this holiday and it will forever be in our memories. We can't wait to return in 2019!

Mr and Mrs Howse,

Amazing views of the sea, been once already and are going to come back next year. Brilliant bathroom facilities- very comfortable sofas. Perfect for popping down to the beach for a swim. Truly beautiful.

Mrs Kennedy,

A beautiful location. Will miss waking up to the sound of the surf!

Mr Farrington,

A lovely relaxing and very well equipped cottage. We have enjoyed our stay. The garden room however could be lovely if it had a good clean and some "TLC".

Mr Holleworth,

I love dealing with Heritage Hideaways and always stay in the same amazing place. Having always holidayed in Southwold as a child, it's lovely to return as an adult with all my nieces and nephews in tow. Number six is a perfect seafront space. Artfully decorated and superbly located, I'd happily argue that it's the best place to stay in Southwold! With a wonderful veranda overlooking the sea for morning coffee and a sweet little outside space for when the holiday makers get too much in the afternoon. Number six is perfect at all hours of the days. Inspiring, intimate with an inherent artistic feeling. I wish it was my own little secret and I didn't have to share! Definitely my favourite place to stay.

Mrs Owen,

All in all a lovely experience through from booking to the actual holiday. Number six is just the most amazing place to stay! Everything we needed was provided, very clean and very comfortable. To hear nothing but the sea at night was special... No traffic, no people! Also the view of the sea! The patio at the back was gloomy and dirty, not a place we would have liked to sit out in.

Mr Cheney,
