Sitting in the heart of Southwold, this spacious house is in a fantastic location close to the shops and beach. Spread over three floors, with an open-plan living space on the ground floor, a snug on the second floor, a garden, three bathrooms, and private parking, it’s ideal for a group of friends or family to enjoy a seaside holiday.

The house has a contemporary finish and high-end features, including oak flooring and underfloor heating on the ground floor. The open-plan space is spacious and light, perfect for relaxing, cooking and dining together with a big L-shaped sofa, a Smart TV, a Bluetooth speaker, a dining area, and all mod cons in the kitchen. French doors in the sitting area lead out to the garden and there’s a handy cloakroom on the ground floor. Two of the bedrooms are on the first floor, a king with an en-suite shower room and the pretty twin room, as well as the family bathroom. Bedroom three is on the second floor, another light and luxurious king, along with a shower room. If you fancy some me time or need to work there’s a snug on the second floor with a desk, TV, and comfy armchairs. In the evenings, light the BBQ and enjoy dinner al fresco in the decked garden.

Leave the car at home and explore the town’s shops, cafes, and restaurants. Play games and grab fish and chips on the Pier (0.5 miles), walk along the promenade and beach to see the famous Grade II listed lighthouse, head to the harbour (1 mile) and catch the foot ferry (summer only) to Walberswick. Walk through stunning coastal and country scenery to the village of Covehithe (5 miles) or pack a picnic and visit Minsmere Nature Reserve (11.5 miles) to go birdwatching.

The house is smart and comfortable, with a supply of games including table tennis bats and balls for use on the outdoor table in the nearby park. Also, well placed for the town centre, yet quiet, tucked away in a private alley. As users of an electric vehicle, we found the charger a major plus point, as public chargers are a bit sparse in the area.

Dunlin was an ideal property suiting all three generations of our family. A welcoming, bright well equipped modern property over 3 floors enabling each bedroom to have their own bathroom facilities. The addition of the small garden barbecue area was an added bonus.

Property was excellent and exactly as described. Easy to book online, although payment through other credit cards (amex, paypal) would be appreciated. Communication prior to arrival was good, although felt like we were moving through a process...for the amount we were spending would have hoped for something a little more personal. However, this is Read moreour second time booking through SS and we would use again for a Southwold rental. Hide

This was our third year at the property and it was nice to find that a lot of maintenance work had been done. There were even some new appliances installed. We had a great time as usual and have booked again for next year.

Sat in the garden enjoying the sunshine of this lovely property in a perfect location. Very well equipped and comfortable. A walk from Aldeburgh to Thorpeness is a lovely flat walk, very enjoyable, with lunch at The Dolphon half way. Great to have a parking bay - what a bonus in Southwold!
