The Old Fisherman’s Hut is a very special holiday cottage perfect for a couple wanting a comfortable, cosy stay. Guests will be surrounded by views of the Suffolk coastline with the property having a generous number of windows facing out towards the River Blyth, Southwold’s harbour and Southwold’s Blackshore. Looking out of the front of the property, guests will see fishing and leisure boats drifting by and in the distance, Walberswick, which can be approached over the nearby footbridge or by foot ferry. From the back of the property, views of luscious grazing meadows can be seen rolling towards Southwold’s buzzing town, which is just a fifteen minute, scenic walk away.
The hut has a wonderful living area. Whichever month you decide to visit, the property will be flooded with light and the wood burner is sure to keep guests warm and snug during the colder months. Comfortable soft furnishings make for a great resting place when enjoying a bit of telly or reading a good book after a long day exploring Suffolk. The outside or inside dining tables, plus two decking areas provide fantastic breakfast, lunch and dinner spots and the kitchen provides an excellent range of appliances to fulfil self-catering needs. Guests can snuggle up in the double bed and enjoy a good sized bathroom. Shop: 1-mile Pub: 50 yards.
Why We Love This Property: We would be silly to mention anything but the stunning views from The Old Fisherman’s Hut. Hours can be spent watching the world go by, and guests are spoilt for choice in which windows to gaze out of, or which decking to rest their feet on. There is just something special about watching a boat drift by whilst reading the Southwold Gazette and enjoying a morning coffee.

Southwold Harbour - All the Harbour properties overlook the water with a mix of pleasure and working boats; beyond this are open views towards Walberswick which can be approached over the nearby footbridge or on the foot ferry (summer only). There are equally delightful views from the rear windows across meadows towards the town. Town centre shops and other amenities are three-quarters of a mile away (fifteen minutes delightful walk) across grazing meadows and the common, whilst the beach is a similar distance along the side of the Blyth River to the harbour mouth.
