Coastal style living in a great location - this unique harbourside cottage overlooks Blackshore Quay, close to the pub and beaches of Southwold and Walberswick. 

5 Blackshore is beautifully appointed and packed with nautical charm, a great spot for a family holiday on the Suffolk coast. Relax in the riverside garden or warm your toes by the stove… this is the perfect seaside retreat whatever the season. Step inside and this self catering holiday cottage is beautiful. The farmhouse style kitchen has plenty of seating around the pine table and the cosy sitting room has three sofas and a wood burning stove. There’s also a bright conservatory with wicker furniture and coastal works of art dotted around. Upstairs the three bedrooms can sleep six guests, all are beautifully furnished in seaside colours with pale blues, whites and a splash of red.

Blackshore Quay has a good pub and fisherman's huts selling the catch of the day. Take a stroll into Southwold with its iconic pier, lighthouse, pastel coloured beach huts and fabulously fresh seafood! The town has some excellent independent shops, cafes and restaurants, be sure to call in for a pint of the acclaimed Adnams beer in one of the popular pubs.

Outside: Front garden runs down to the harbour side - decked area immediately outside the property and small lawn with borders at the rear.

Parking: Free parking nearby.

Sleeps: 6 in 3 bedrooms.

Minimum hire: 3 nights. High season minimum stay 1 week.

Pets: Sorry, not pets. 

Heating: Oil-fired heating and woodburner (will also burn coal).

Notes: Linen and towels provided. Travel cot, stairgate and highchair available. Check in: 4pm. Check out: 10am. There are three steep steps from the front garden to the property. 


Southwold Harbour - All the Harbour properties overlook the water with a mix of pleasure and working boats; beyond this are open views towards Walberswick which can be approached over the nearby footbridge or on the foot ferry (summer only). There are equally delightful views from the rear windows across meadows towards the town. Town centre shops and other amenities are three quarters of a mile away (fifteen minutes delightful walk) across grazing meadows and the common, whilst the beach is a similar distance along the side of the Blyth River to the harbour mouth. There is a good eating pub nearby which welcomes children, an exceptional fish and chip restaurant; a tea room and all the hustle and bustle of a sailing and fishing community.
