Pack your towel and swimming costume and meander less than 100 metres down to the sandy beach when you stay at this enticing holiday home close to the seafront in Southwold. Sleeping six guests, the three-bedroom abode, which also welcomes canine companions, provides a fabulous base for days on the beach and trips along the Suffolk Heritage Coast. With an open fire for cosy nights in and a courtyard garden for outdoor evening relaxation with a glass of wine, it makes a great retreat at any time of year.
Step inside to find a homely, characterful interior, where the lounge has a stripped wooden floor and comfortable sofas to sink into at the end of a busy day. Watch TV, listen to music through the wireless sound system and light the fire during the autumn and winter months. Make your way into the gorgeous, farmhouse-style kitchen, with its beamed ceiling and quarry tile floor to cook up tasty dishes for your family or friends. Open the French doors in here on fine days and relax at the table with a cup of coffee and a magazine. Gather round the table in the dining room when it is time to eat. A WC can also be found downstairs, while the family bathroom is on the first floor. Also up here are one twin and two king-size bedrooms, one of which has an en-suite shower room, up one step. Sit out in the courtyard garden after your trips out, relaxing with a hot or cold drink and enjoying the fresh air. There is parking for one small car.
Take an afternoon stroll along the promenade, walking 0.5 miles to Southwold’s famous pier if you choose. Have fish and chips here as you gaze out to sea and visit the unusual, under-the-pier show.
