Ickworth House

Part of the National Trust, Ickworth House is at the centre of Ickworth Estate. It was started in the 18th century but not completed until the early 19th century. Ickworth House was built by Earl Bishop as a palace to showcase the many treasures and art collected by him in Europe; however, the collection was confiscated by Napoleonic troops in 1798 and never recovered. His son moved into the house with his family upon completion in 1829.
