Beccles Bell Tower
Beccles Bell Tower was built in 1515 and took 40 years to build. It stands 97ft above the beautiful market town of Beccles and has some unusual characteristics. The Bell Tower is in no way attached to the church and neither is it owned by the Diocese; it was sold to Beccles Town Council in 1972. From the top of the roof you can see up to 20 miles on a clear day and is now formally open to the public. Another quirky fact is that it only has clock faces on 3 sides, do you know why?
