October 2017

Brrrr! Where have those sunny summer days gone? I'm having to wrap up warm now as the sea is turning rather icy! The heating has been turned on and I'm grateful that I can spend most of my time in the cosy and homely Suffolk Cottage Holidays office.

The craziness of summer is well behind us and we are looking ahead to the fun and frolicks that the October Half Term has in store. There'll be plenty to do from walking through the woodland to playing board games by the log burner; don't believe me? That's me pictured in Tunstall Forest above yesterday! I love the autumn colours.

Parents; if you're still looking for the perfect half term getaway, consider these family friendly retreats...

Shepherds Watch, South Elmham

What could be better than a family holiday on the farm?! With rare breed sheep and poultry on site, children are welcome and encouraged to help on the farm, learning how to look after the animals and experiencing them up close. The cottage itself is a delight, with ground floor accommodation, underfloor heating, roaring woodburner and 3 delightful bedrooms sleeping up to 6. What's more, the large wet room has mobility assistance features (read more here) - making it perfect for those who may struggle to stand for a shower. 7 nights at Half Term start at £816.

Boot Cottage, Iken

For a peaceful and idyllic retreat, look no further. Complete with two en-suite bathrooms, this 2 bed country cottage has all the ingredients for a holiday in the countryside. The large OS map shows the immediate area, a great way to plan your days walking throughout the surrounding field and marshland. Just a short walk away is both Iken Bay riding school and Iken Canoe - making sure that all ages and personalities are catered for during your stay in the county. No-one get's left behind as your four-legged friend can join you too! 7 nights at Half Term start at £753.

Last, but by no means least, we introduce The Old Stables, Pettistree

Now with both a double and a twin room, The Old Stables is perfect for a small family wishing to explore the area. A great base for exploring Woodbridge and Aldeburgh, guests are also advised to visit The Greyhound pub in the village at least once; you won't be disappointed! Again, with ground floor accommodation and an open plan living/dining and kitchen area, it really is a light, bright and welcoming abode. 7 nights at Half Term start at £603.

So I hope this has given you a little flavour of what a lovely selection of holiday cottages Suffolk Cottage Holidays has in the area - but be quick, they won't stay available for long!!

Best wishes,
