Rotunda Easter Preparations - Living History
Friday, 18 April 2014, 11am - 4pm
It’s a hive of activity in the basement, as the Ickworth cooks prepare for a sumptuous Easter banquet. Witness the heat in the kitchen as traditional Easter fare such as Simnel Cake is made.
Ickworth House was built between 1432 and 1956 and is surrounded by acres of beautiful parkland which offer many peaceful walking trails. The grounds include a walled garden and a popular adventure playground for children. The basement of the striking Rotunda at Ickworth House has been restored to its 1910 appearance, and offers a real ‘Upstairs Downstairs’ insight into what it was like to work and live in this extraordinary home.
