WOODBRIDGE’S first ever official celebration of shellfish is now just days away, with restaurants and businesses lining up to welcome guests. The Woodbridge Shuck Festival will be taking place from Friday 5th to Sunday 7th October. This debut food festival, aims to bring local producers, chefs and lovers of food together, and to celebrate the oysters, mussels and fish from the River Deben and Suffolk coastal region.    Over the weekend, festival-goers can look forward to tasting opportunities and enjoy some exceptional menus, showcasing the outstanding local produce and shellfish. Among those hosting special menus include The Angel, The Anchor, The Riverside Restaurant and The Table.  The festival programme will also include a talk about the river Deben and its shellfish harvest by local historian Robert Simper. This will take place on Sunday 7th at the iconic Woodbridge Tide Mill.    Festival organiser, Glyn Williams, said: “We have been overwhelmed by the enthusiasm for this event from Woodbridge eateries and are looking forward to seeing a great number of venues host diners for special menus.    The Woodbridge Shuck Festival is being organised by Suffolk Secrets, Simper's Deben Shellfish, The Crown At Woodbridge, Infotex and Lexia Media.
