It is in active use from Easter to October, when you can hire canoes, rowing, sail boats etc., and enjoy Thorpeness Regatta. Other amenities include the award winning Dolphin Inn, the famous Thorpeness 18-hole golf course, Thorpeness Country Club tennis courts (to the front of Holly House), a village shop/deli and Meare tearooms. The beaches are beautiful (Aldeburgh is a 20 minute walk along the beach), and a myriad of footpaths over heath and common land lead from the door, e.g. to Dunwich and RSPB Minsmere.
