Located in private grounds peppered with 500 year-old oak trees and backing onto Captain's Wood - a wildlife reserve teeming with deer and bird life - this is a nature lover's paradise. The walking is fantastic with an extensive network of paths, and both the road and mountain biker is spoilt for choice. The Alde River is a mile away along a bridleway and this caters for a range of water sports including sailing, canoeing and fishing. Horse riding, golf and tennis are available within a short drive.

The cultural and culinary opportunities are also outstanding. Snape Maltings, a world class concert hall and home to the Aldeburgh Festival, is five minutes' drive away. Various literary events take place there and it offers an exclusive gift shopping opportunity. In the nearby fishing village of Orford, home to an historic castle, there is the truly exceptional Pump Street Bakery, the classic Butley Oysterage, and Pinney's Smoke House as well as Britain's best local store and cafe.  There are also numerous cosy and atmospheric country pubs and restaurants in the vicinity serving lovely food and of course there is the delicious local beer! For those who like cooking at home, the quality and range of local produce - including seafood bought directly from fishermen - is exceptional. The popular seaside sailing town of Aldeburgh is a 20 minute drive away, offering a marvellous beach, a variety of quirky shops and art galleries, a cinema, and restaurants, not to mention the renowned fish and chips. A lovely situated property for the relaxing break we wanted. Everything you need supplied and very comfortable. Some lovely walks in the local countryside and also a short drive away.

Mr P,

Fabulous barn in beautiful countryside. Very spacious and comfortable. Wonderful walks straight out the front door..

Mrs W,

Very comfortable cottage, set in beautiful surrounding countryside and very peaceful. Equipped for self catering with everything you need and the walk in shower was an experience in itself with it's 5 different jets. We saw a hare run across the lawn a couple of times and the assorted birdsong was beautiful. The owners left us to it but if we needed anything they were there to sort it straight away. If you want peace & quiet with walks straight outside the door this is the place to be to explore Suffolk. We really enjoyed our stay .

Mr H,

Beautiful, comfortable and spacious accommodation. Location is brilliant - quiet and off the beaten track with lovely walks to river and woods straight out the door, but also just a short drive away from great places to visit like Orford, Snape Maltings, Sutton Hoo. Had a wonderful, relaxing stay!

Mrs G,
