A charming, terraced cottage located in the quiet and picturesque village of Sudbourne, Angel Cottage is an ideal bolthole for a couple of small family to enjoy a holiday to Suffolk. With a location like this, you will be perfectly placed to enjoy both the Suffolk coast and countryside. This characterful little cottage can offer the perfect self-catering stay for walkers, cyclists, and nature-enthusiasts alike.
The accommodation on the ground floor comprises of a kitchen/diner which is small but perfectly formed, a cosy sitting room with soft seating and Smart TV ideal for enjoying a quiet night in, and a ground floor bathroom. When it is time to recharge the batteries after a long day exploring, then head up to the first floor where two bedrooms await; one is equipped with double bed and the other with twin beds making this property well suited to small families or a couple looking for a little extra space for their stay.
A short walk away from the front door are three beautiful, woodland areas, the first is Captains Wood (a Suffolk Wildlife Trust Area) which puts on quite the display of bluebells in the Springtime and is a haven for wildlife. The other two large expanses are woodland are Sudbourne Woods and Tunstall Woods, just a matter of minutes away and ideal for dog walking.
Orford is an easy 2-mile cycle or drive away and has several well-established eateries, including the popular Pump Street Bakery and Butley Oysterage, as well as two dine in pubs, and the Crown and Castle hotel restaurant. The well-stocked Orford General Store is great for topping up on groceries for your self-catering stay, and in addition to this there is fresh and smoked fish at the quay and the local butcher.
We recommend packing your walking boots and your binoculars for a stay at Angel Cottage; there is much exploring to be done here and the nearby views and wildlife are beautiful. You will be sure to see something of interest whilst exploring the local area! Pub: 2 miles, Shop: 2 miles.

Situated between Aldeburgh and Orford - one of the most beautiful and rural parts of the Suffolk coast – Sudbourne is a quiet and delightful village to enjoy both the Suffolk coast and countryside. The walking here is fantastic with an extensive network of paths, and both the road and mountain biker is spoilt for choice. The Alde River is also nearby and this caters for a range of water sports including sailing, canoeing and fishing. Horse riding, golf and tennis are available within a short drive. It is only nine miles from the beach at Aldeburgh, with the historic towns of Framlingham and Woodbridge and the world-famous Snape Maltings Concert Hall also within easy reach.
Just 2 miles up the road is Orford - an attractive small town, dominated by the remains of a 12th Century castle keep - you may like to climb to the top to enjoy the panoramic views over the town and marshes. It is also famous for Orford Ness National Nature Reserve and Havergate Island, both a delight for ornithologists and nature lovers. Sailing and boat trips are available on the River Ore, with country walks in Rendlesham Forest.
