Snape is best known as the venue for the Aldeburgh Festival and for other events throughout the year held in the Maltings Concert Hall. However, the pretty village, at the head of the tidal estuary, is a popular holiday venue in its own right and central for exploring the unique area of the Suffolk Heritage Coast – the tidal estuary and network of footpaths are one of the most interesting areas of Suffolk for exploring on foot. There is easy access to the fascinating coastal town of Aldeburgh, plus castles and much more to explore at Framlingham and Orford. The burial treasures at Sutton Hoo, near Woodbridge, should not be missed also.

Our property was spotless on our arrival. Very light and airy with everything needed for a relaxing week away. Super comfy bed! We were able to visit many beautiful villages in close proximity and enjoyed lunch in the local pub. Thorpness, Southwold and Walberswick are within easy reach and the beach at Aldeburgh proved perfect for a swim. The cottage is very dog friendly with a secure garden wrapping around the property. We loved our week away and would highly recommend.

Mrs B,

Excellent comfortable quiet lodge for a couple. Very conveniently situated for Snape Maltings, Aldeburgh and the A12. Within three miles you will find: Waitrose, Tesco, a petrol station, fishmonger and a brilliant farm shop.

Mr B,

The accommodation was excellent along with the hosts and their care attention to our needs especially as a result of the weather. Private and secluded with fenced off garden for our dog. A very enjoyable stress free break central to all our favourite destinations.

Mr B,

A simply outstanding very comfortable lodge in a lovely peaceful location, everything you could want was already catered for, and Jess the host was on hand to greet you on arrival to make sure everything was ok, will definitely be booking again soon.
