Snape is best known as the venue for the Aldeburgh Festival and for other events throughout the year held in the Maltings Concert Hall. However, the pretty village, at the head of the tidal estuary, is a popular holiday venue in its own right and central for exploring the unique area of the Suffolk Heritage Coast - the tidal estuary and network of footpaths are one of the most interesting areas of Suffolk for exploring on foot. There is easy access to the fascinating coastal town of Aldeburgh, plus castles and much more to explore at Framlingham and Orford. The burial treasures at Sutton Hoo, near Woodbridge, should not be missed either.

Beautiful cottage, garden & location. We have visited Snape a number of times and enjoyed walking to Iken and concerts at The Maltings. Would recommend The Crown and Golden Key for meals, lovely to be able to walk. Beautiful overall, especially with the history of the place, so interesting.
With our first visit to Suffolk already behind us, we look forward to returning. We enjoyed trips out to Aldeburgh, Felixstowe and Southwold. My particular favourite was a trip to Flatford MIll (Constable Country) we even took the oportunity to drive to Kew Gardens & Windsor Castle. The cottage has everything you would need for a comfortable stay. With thanks
This was our first time in Suffolk and found this a lovely cottage to stay in and probably the best equipped we have ever stayed in the UK. It had a lovely homely feel and had everything that we needed for an excellent holiday. We would love to return to Suffolk finding it a lovely county and only had time in a week to see a small part of it. Didn't want to leave !
And breathe...phew we made it to the Summer Holidays! The hottest Suffolk break that I can ever remember - 7 weeks an no rain here so brown and dry. Had a great few days in glorious sunshine . Been to the outdoor cinema in Woodbridge, and then Riverside to see Mamma Mia,. Fabulous time in Aldeburgh & Thorpeness for on the water. Day trip to Great Yarmouth and village fete in Eyke. Great to e here as always, such a great place come rain or shine, a piece of paradise.
We love coming to Suffolk and always enjoy coming here, but this year has been especially lovely with the combination of the amazing weather and your beautiful cottage. We've loved the garden, but we've both enjoyed 'Uncle Geoff's paintings' which among other things have helped us root the cottage in its past. Thanks for the wine! Now we are back to the hills of Yorkshire.
This cottage one of the best we've ever stayed in - most attractive.
Beautifully situated and excellently equipped - we had a lovely weekend and are considering staying again in the autumn
