Description
Priory Lodge is a delightful detached former gate house on the edge of the village of Snape and close by to the quintessential coastal town of Aldeburgh. This stunning home is enveloped by a large and mature landscaped garden with ancient oak trees, pockets of wildflowers and plenty of open green space to enjoy.
Step inside this gorgeous holiday home which has been beautifully extended and enhanced over the years to create a mostly single-story space to bring all your favourite people together. The kitchen and dining room are at the heart of the home and is filled with all you could need to prepare delicious suppers and indulge around the dinner table. The snug has a space for everyone and is the perfect retreat for cosying up with a good book in front of the fire. At the other end of the house is the main bedroom which boasts high vaulted ceilings and full-length windows to let the natural light flood in as well as a large family bathroom with walk in shower and bathtub.
Upstairs, there are two further bedrooms on offer; a cosy double bedroom with views over the leafy and luscious landscaped garden and a generous twin bedroom both with use of a shower room. The final bedroom is in your very own private annexe accessed through the garden and is the ideal escape for two people with perfectly positioned windows to revel in the glorious garden and watch the abundance of wildlife that calls this place home.
This gorgeous former Gate House to Snape Priory was built by the Dowager Countess of Cranbrook for her gardener. The house is still served by a well which is positioned over an aquifer which supplies the house with copious quantities of the purest and fully treated water.
Why we love this property: Embrace this gorgeous countryside escape which is only a 5 minute drive to the coastal haven of Aldeburgh and close to many footpaths on the doorstep.
