Pet friendly Granary Cottage is a delightful rural retreat, a great base for walking and cycling, close to the beaches on the Suffolk coast.

Granary Cottage is one of four holiday homes which are part of a former working farm on the outskirts of Snape. This Suffolk holiday cottage is a beautiful barn conversion with original beamed walls and ceilings on show throughout the property. This traditional barn conversion has accommodation over two floors, with an open plan living and kitchen area and a double bedroom. Stairs lead up to a galleried landing and the second bedroom and the family bathroom. Maintaining the original openings of the barn, the property has lovely French doors opening up onto a pretty patio with table and chairs… perfect for relaxing with a coffee or a little alfresco dining.

If you’re planning on exploring the area, don’t forget to pack your walking boots and be sure to walk the Sailor’s Path along the River Alde to the Suffolk coast at Aldeburgh. Follow in the footsteps of the fishermen, who, at low tide were forced to leave their boats on the mud flats and head home on foot.

We enjoyed our time in this lovely period property. It is historical but has all the modern felicities. The rooms are good size, the shower is powerful. The lounge area is specious and the garden is large and pretty.
