A short walk from the High Street and the beach and with plenty of parking too, Telford has it all! This impressive detached house in the heart of Aldeburgh combines a mid-century retro style and modern tech with the holidaymaker in mind. Colourful Orla Kiely designs paired with G-Plan style furniture make this such a memorable house. Deceptively spacious, Telford has large windows which flood all rooms with natural light. Set back from the road, the property has a large driveway (a bonus in Aldeburgh) and to the rear there is a fully enclosed garden which is a real sun trap! With plenty of outdoor seating, there's even a selection of garden games and a barbeque for those long summer evenings - why not walk to the local fish huts then cook up some of the delicious, locally caught delights back at your holiday home!
Ideal for families; you no longer need to pack your car to the brim when travelling down to Suffolk. The owners of Telford have provided a wide selection of children's equipment so if you've forgotten to pack something, it'll likely be here! (For more details, please see the notes below). Within a five minute walk is a children's playground and tennis courts at King's Field, as well as the popular gym Mint Fitness, which runs a selection of adult and children's classes, bookable online. And strolling down to the High Street and beach with a buggy is a breeze.
For adults looking for a 'child-free' stay, all equipment is thoughtfully stored away unless required, although, 'big kids' may like making use of the 50 inch Smart TV and the retro Nintendo games console! There are lots of reasons to come to Aldeburgh for a stay, particularly for the many festivals through the year, and the owners of Telford hope to make your holiday as comfortable as possible. The kitchen is fully stocked if you like cooking and baking while you’re away, and there are two adult bikes suitable for short jaunts around the area which you are welcome to use. (If you are bringing your own bikes there is room in the garden shed to store two adult bikes by prior arrangement.) There is a selection of books for you to enjoy on the loungers in the garden or by the cosy woodburner in the evening.
With so much to explore from your doorstep, and with a supermarket and pub within minutes, your next Suffolk coastal getaway, whether it’s winter or summer, should definitely be spent at Telford. Pub: 350 yards, Shop: 350 yards.

Aldeburgh and the surrounding area has inspired many authors and poets in the past but the most famous son of the town is Benjamin Britten who founded the Aldeburgh Music Festival which now has worldwide acclaim and is held every year in June at Snape Maltings. Fishermen still pull their colourful boats up on the shingle beach and sell fresh fish from the picturesque huts. The wide, mainly Georgian high street has many attractive buildings whilst the seafront properties all have commanding views of the beach and the North Sea. Boating is popular on the nearby Alde estuary where a large variety of yachts can be seen at summer weekends.

We've enjoyed our stay here very much - thank you for making the house available for others to share (and thank you for all the welcome goodies). We've stayed in many holiday cottages over the years and I think this is the best equipped we have enountered - we liked the care taken with the period decorating too! There are lots of walks round about but we would also recommend visits to Woodbridge, Orford, Snape and Southwold and The Regatta Restaurant here in town. May this prove to be a successful venture for you.
Thanks for a great stay. Well equipped with everything we needed including toys, games and books for us and our one year old. The garden is brilliant to have space to play and relax - weather was good too. Perfect location to everything in town.
We loved the attention to detail in the property. The garden and all the equipment were a great hit with all the family.
It's in a great location and the back garden is its greatest asset
What a great house. Close to everything and great amenities in the house. Even took advantage of the bikes in the shed. Would recommend Aldeburgh Theatre, the cinema, and The Regatta Restaurant. Fish and chips in the High Street is great - try the Stokes Ketchup!
Super home from home for Carnival week. We loved the garden - great for star gazing on clear nights. We can recommend the walk to the bird hide on Hazelwood Marshes. We also picked samphire on the marshes. Enjoyed a performance at the Aldeburgh Theatre and lunch at The Lighthouse. Sad to be leaving on such a sunny day!
We thought the house was lovely and beautifully decorated – lots of the posters and the height-measuring chart were fun. We didn’t have young children (for the games) but enjoyed having the boules (as we forgot ours) and spent quite a bit of time in the garden (loved the evening lights and the bat). We like a big table for playing board games so that was good. And lots of parking space is always appreciated. Little details like the night light on the landing were very much appreciated. We had a lovely stay - thanks.
We had a really lovely time and Telford suited us really well. The house was nice and clean. It had a wonderful garden and we appreciated all the garden games in the shed which we enjoyed. What we particularly liked is that the owners had thought about what families needed and were able to cater for that (lots of nice games and books, potty, stairgate, monitor etc) which were all very useful for us and our 3 year old. There aren’t many holiday homes which are truly aimed at families with young children. Also the location suited us very well- close to a Tesco and a playground but within easy walking distance of the town centre and beach.
