Aldeburgh and the surrounding area has inspired many authors and poets in the past but the most famous son of the town is Benjamin Britten, who founded the Aldeburgh Music Festival, which now has worldwide acclaim and is held every year in June at Snape Maltings. Fishermen still pull their colourful boats up on the shingle beach and sell fresh fish from the picturesque huts. The wide, mainly Georgian high street has many attractive buildings whilst the seafront properties all have commanding views of the beach and the North Sea. There is a golf club and boating is popular on the nearby Alde estuary where a large variety of yachts can be seen at summer weekends. The estuary is also a great area for walking and for soaking up some of the beautiful Suffolk countryside.

Easy booking service. Collection of keys to house very smooth. Whole experience seamless. Description of property spot on.Mr A Holmes - 28th August 2016
Comfortable cottage in a convenient location. Bedding and towels clean and lovely garden in which to sit and enjoy the sunshine. I love Suffolk. I have found Suffolk Secrets staff helpful and polite at all times and I found the accommodation on offer to be of a high standard. Would definitely recommend and use again :)Ms Sue Head - 31st July 2016
A great base from which to explore the area. Everything needed to ensure a comfortable stay with plenty to do if you wanted it. Don't want to say too much....might spoil the secret! A fabulous stay, peaceful surroundings but with plenty to do on the doorstep. Would definitely recommend it.Ms S Sagan - 6th July 2016
The local area was very nice it is a well respected village. Plenty to do and very relaxing.Mr H Dalton - 20th June 2016
Very nicely appointed property in good location - easy walk into town and ideal for access to old railway path leading into surrounding countryside.Mrs Clarke - 3rd June 2016
The property was nice and the location convenient, It was handy having a Tesco and a coop just round the corner. We could (and did) walk to Aldeburgh and Thorpeness. We have never visited Suffolk before so used the property as a base to explore from Beccles to north Felixstowe. We had a very enjoyable break, thank you.Mr G Stott - 25th May 2016
Don't miss out on this cottage!Mr Steve Copley - 23rd August 2015
The cottage was very well presented and comfortable. We liked the fact we could walk into Aldeburgh or the beach from the cottage. As well as being able to go walking direct from the cottage meaning we hardly used the car during the whole week!Ms M Brown - 17th June 2015
This really is a lovely cottage, well located and it is clear a lot of thought has gone into the decoration and equipping the cottage out with everything you could need and within walking distance of Aldeburgh High Street and the Beach.Dr S Treadwell - 31st May 2015
