Tucked away just behind the Aldeburgh High Street, we guarantee that you will truly fall in love with this well-kept 'Suffolk secret'. A real-life tardis, 1 The Rest has been fully refurbished to an exceptional standard and has been featured in Ideal Home magazine. Formerly the private holiday home for the owners, we are delighted to advertise this beautiful home right on the Aldeburgh seafront. Known for its iconic stone steps outside the front door, 1 The Rest is deceptively spacious and finished in a contemporary, coastal-inspired style. The large kitchen/diner has vast, high ceilings, with large sash windows looking out to the rear garden. A handcrafted pastel blue and cream kitchen with stylish cherry wood central island take the main stage; complete with a generous range cooker for those special lunches and occasions. A Habitat table sits up to 6 and adds a mid-century modern twist to this calming and natural hub of the home.
Upstairs, the luxury continues. The large sitting room with wood-burning stove, has breath-taking views of both the famous shingle beach and sea - to be enjoyed through the windows, or of course, open up the French doors to the private balcony and feel the refreshing sea air wash over you... In fact, the sea views continue in all three of the bedrooms, each of which have their own private en-suite facilities.
Of course, the real joy of 1 The Rest is its proximity to the sea; the garden gate leads straight out onto the seafront promenade - so exploring children can have their freedom on the beach, whilst you look on from the balcony on the first floor. If fresh produce is your thing, you'll be first in the queue to sample some of the locally caught delights at the seafront fish huts, whilst still being only a short walk from the High Street, which has a plethora of independent food shops.
If you've been searching for you ideal family holiday home, or an utterly perfect Aldeburgh base to enjoy with friends, we recommend booking 1 The Rest today. It really will be the holiday home you have always dreamt of experiencing. Pub: 100 yards, Shop: 0.1 miles.

Aldeburgh is situated at the heart of the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The river Alde, popular with sailors, winds its way to Orford downstream and up-stream to Snape Maltings, home of the internationally famous Aldeburgh Music Festival. Thorpeness, just a couple of miles north along the beach, has its own special seaside character. In Aldeburgh fishermen still, pull their colourful boats up on the shingle beach and sell fresh fish from their picturesque huts. The high street has mostly independent shops mixed in with a nice variety of eating places. There are also several good hotels overlooking the sea, ideal for a leisurely lunch or evening meal. Opposite our Aldeburgh office is an interesting old and very well equipped cinema which shows the latest films and occasional festivals e.g. the highly regarded annual Aldeburgh Documentary Film Festival. There is always plenty to do in Aldeburgh while a radius of 10 miles inland will bring you to the fabulous natural riches of the East Anglian countryside and coastal area - and plenty of excellent pubs.
