Description

Mayflower cottage is perfect for your seaside escape at any time of the year.  This beautifully presented and well equipped holiday cottage comes with a pretty south-facing garden and private parking, much sought after in Aldeburgh.

This delightful holiday cottage is situated on Church Farm, an award winning development at the northern end of Aldeburgh, one of the most picturesque seaside towns along the Suffolk coast.

The boutiques, cafes and shops of Aldeburgh High Street are just a 7-minute walk away from Mayflower Cottage, and you certainly won't need the car for a daytrip to Thorpeness, just take a stroll along the beach (which is just 5-minutes away on foot), admiring 'The Scallop', an iconic sculpture by Maggi Hambling, dedicated to local composer Benjamin Britten, along the way.

The lounge at Mayflower Cottage is a warm and inviting room, with soft colours and character wood burner (ideal for those cosy winter nights in front of the fire), whilst the dining room which adjoins the tasteful shaker-style kitchen has double patio doors leading to a pretty south-facing garden, perfect for summer evenings. There's even a BBQ provided for your use.

Upstairs are three well-appointed bedrooms; a double (with super-king size bed), a twin (which can be converted to a super-king) and a single, each with a coastal theme, plus a spacious family bathroom –perfect for a seaside holiday in Suffolk. Shop: 500 yards Pub: 500 yards.

Fishermen still pull their colourful boats up on the shingle beach and sell fresh fish from the picturesque huts. The wide, mainly Georgian high street has many attractive buildings whilst the seafront properties all have commanding views of the beach and the North Sea. A really delightful cottage, very clean and with everything we need. Thanks also for the cake and flowers. Everything outside the house and garden stood up well to storm Ciara. I hope to be back one day.

Previous Customer,

What a beautiful cottage! We will certainly recommend to friends and the little extras were very thoughtful. Thank you so much for our stay.

Previous Customer,

We really enjoyed our stay at Mayflower Cottage, modern, spacious and clean and a great location to walk into Aldeburgh. The welcome food package on our arrival was very much appreciated, the apple cake in particular was delicious!

Mrs Carmen W,

Had another great holiday. Did lots of walking in Southwold, to Thorpeness, Orford and Walberswick. Nice meals at the White Lion & Sea Spice. Many thanks for the delicious welcome pack and flowers. Already planning things to do on our next trip.

Previous Customer,

As in previous stays, we have had a most enjoyable time in Mayflower Cottage and Aldeburgh. The selection of 'goodies' and beautiful flowers were most welcome and much appreciated. Otherwise, what is there to say, which we (and others) haven't said before?

Previous Customer,

One of the loveliest, cleanest, well equipped and well presented cottages we have stayed in. We loved it!

Mrs Sheila H,

What a joy it has been to stay in this lovely cottage. We've never seen such an amazing welcome pack as awaited us! Glad we managed lots of walks to burn off the additional calories. We love Suffolk and will definitely be staying in Mayflower Cottage again.

David & S,

Many thanks for lettings stay again in your well equipped and lovingly maintained cottage. It is in such an ideal location for exploring the area. Also many thanks for the very welcome baking - what a Victoria Sponge - definitely a prize winner!! Thank you for all the treats you left, the flowers are a lovely touch. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

Thank you for a wonderful home for the week - we have had a lovely time and the cottage was the perfect place to come back to after days out, either in sun or torrential rain! We will definitely be back!

Previous Customer,

What a beautiful cottage. Thank you so much for the yummy goodies on arrival, they went down a treat. Mayflower cottage is just perfect, had everything we needed and more! The whole area of Aldeburgh is stunning, we spent a lot of time crabbing at Walberswick - the children were obsessed. Loved Southwold and Thorpeness too. Felixstowe worth a visit - we hired a lovely beach hut there for a few days. We will defo be back to this part of the world.

Previous Customer,

Extremely comfortable, well equipped and well furnished cottage. We thought the location was great as it was quiet, and a short stroll to the beach but also an easy walk into town.

Mrs Sarah S,

Very impressed with the cottage. Extremely well equipped and very comfortable. Thank you for the fabulous welcome pack and for the flowers. We've stayed in a lot of holiday cottages over the years and this is one of the best.

Sarah & R,

We have really enjoyed our stay here. The area is beautiful and unspoiled and we have visited some very interesting places. The house is well located and equipped with everything that we needed. It was immaculate when we arrived and very clean. The beds are really comfy and it’s evident that the owners take pride and care in the way that it is presented along with a welcome goodie basket, home bakes and flowers. This was all appreciated and we will certainly recommend it as an excellent place to stay and hope to return at some point.

C F,

Mr Richard C,

3rd year running we have been here; love it always, and this year we were with our beautiful granddaughter aged 4 weeks old!

Sarah & family,

Probably the best cottage we have stayed in - a great welcome pack and very well equipped. Lighthouse good for a meal out and pizzas at the White Hart recommended. Many thanks.

We've had a lovely Suffolk break in this warm, comfortable and extremely well equipped cottage - such a wonderful base for our family holiday. Thank you so much for the welcome pack - possibly the best we've ever received on a cottage break. The cottage has been perfect for us and we'll certainly recommend.

Previous Customer,

Lovely cosy cottage, yummy cake and scones on arrival. Well suited for walks to Thorpeness and into town. Very well stocked kitchen, was able to make a birthday cake, which went down well! Thank you.

Nathan & J,

Wonderful cottage for a relaxing stay. So enjoyed the walk to the beach – so much bird song in the trees along the way. We have been so blessed by the unseasonable sunshine during the day and cosy evenings by the fire. We shall be returning home refreshed and more relaxed than we have been for a long, long time. Mayflower Cottage has been a perfect sanctuary for us, thank you.

Tony & N,

A lovely timely break, thank you. Thank you for the lovely cottage and all the beautiful extras. So very comfortable. We had a lovely time exploring Suffolk for the first time. Recommended is the nearby farm park, Southwold, and picturesque Thorpeness. Great time had by all.
