Description

Mayflower cottage is perfect for your seaside escape at any time of the year.  This beautifully presented and well equipped holiday cottage comes with a pretty south-facing garden and private parking, much sought after in Aldeburgh.

This delightful holiday cottage is situated on Church Farm, an award winning development at the northern end of Aldeburgh, one of the most picturesque seaside towns along the Suffolk coast.

The boutiques, cafes and shops of Aldeburgh High Street are just a 7-minute walk away from Mayflower Cottage, and you certainly won't need the car for a daytrip to Thorpeness, just take a stroll along the beach (which is just 5-minutes away on foot), admiring 'The Scallop', an iconic sculpture by Maggi Hambling, dedicated to local composer Benjamin Britten, along the way.

The lounge at Mayflower Cottage is a warm and inviting room, with soft colours and character wood burner (ideal for those cosy winter nights in front of the fire), whilst the dining room which adjoins the tasteful shaker-style kitchen has double patio doors leading to a pretty south-facing garden, perfect for summer evenings. There's even a BBQ provided for your use.

Upstairs are three well-appointed bedrooms; a double (with super-king size bed), a twin (which can be converted to a super-king) and a single, each with a coastal theme, plus a spacious family bathroom –perfect for a seaside holiday in Suffolk. Shop: 500 yards Pub: 500 yards.

Fishermen still pull their colourful boats up on the shingle beach and sell fresh fish from the picturesque huts. The wide, mainly Georgian high street has many attractive buildings whilst the seafront properties all have commanding views of the beach and the North Sea. Boating is popular on the nearby Alde estuary where a large variety of yachts can be seen at summer weekends.

Reviews

It was so good to get here after having to miss our usual May slot! Thank you as always for the flowers and "goodies"......though the homemade cake was greatly missed. The cottage was spotless and as comfortable as ever. A great break in difficult times!

Previous Customer,

Another very comfortable and relaxed holiday - we just needed to see the sea and take long, leisurely walks. Having Mayflower Cottage to return to made it even better. So welcoming and so clean! Sheila & David Hufton

Past Customer,

Our third visit and the cottage was just as welcoming as before. We appreciated all your efforts to minimise risks during the present situation. The cottage has everything you could possibly need and more to ensure you can have a relaxing holiday. Its excellent location means it is easy to walk to the seafront and explore the town. Thank you for the welcome pack which was much appreciated. Hopefully, our next visit will mean we can sample your delicious home-baked cakes and scones again!!

Past Customer,

We have had a wonderful week in Mayflower Cottage. Love the place, and will certainly return. It is one of the best cottages we have stayed in - beautifully decorated and everything in such good condition. Thank you for the goodies and lovely card too, as well as the beautiful flowers in the lounge. Clare & Rod

Mr Malcolm H,

We had a lovely holiday in Mayflower Cottage. On arrival everything was spotless. You have everything you would ever need in the kitchen. When the sun shines, it shines all day in the back garden and through the patio doors. It is only a 10 minutes stroll to the beach where you can just sit and relax. See you next year.

Miss Julie R,

A lovely property in a beautiful location, very well equipped with so many thoughtful touches - we had a wonderful holiday - thanks so much. Thank you too for the beautiful flowers and yummy welcome basket - a lovely surprise.

Mackintosh Family,

We have loved our holiday in Aldeburgh and were blessed with great weather. The area is beautiful and we've enjoyed exploring it on foot and by boat (great canoe hire at Iken). The cottage is fantastic, it has everything you could need, incredibly well equipped. The beds are super comfy. The welcome pack was amazing, thank you, also thank you for the reassuring notes regarding the extra precautions you've taken to protect us from Covid 19.

Mr Jeremy H,

A really delightful cottage, very clean and with everything we need. Thanks also for the cake and flowers. Everything outside the house and garden stood up well to storm Ciara. I hope to be back one day.

Previous Customer,

As in previous stays, we have had a most enjoyable time in Mayflower Cottage and Aldeburgh. The selection of 'goodies' and beautiful flowers were most welcome and much appreciated. Otherwise, what is there to say, which we (and others) haven't said before?

Previous Customer,

One of the loveliest, cleanest, well equipped and well presented cottages we have stayed in. We loved it!

Extremely comfortable, well equipped and well furnished cottage. We thought the location was great as it was quiet, and a short stroll to the beach but also an easy walk into town.

We have really enjoyed our stay here. The area is beautiful and unspoiled and we have visited some very interesting places. The house is well located and equipped with everything that we needed. It was immaculate when we arrived and very clean. The beds are really comfy and it’s evident that the owners take pride and care in the way that it is presented along with a welcome goodie basket, home bakes and flowers. This was all appreciated and we will certainly recommend it as an excellent place to stay and hope to return at some point.

Mr Richard C,

3rd year running we have been here; love it always, and this year we were with our beautiful granddaughter aged 4 weeks old!

Sarah & family,

Probably the best cottage we have stayed in - a great welcome pack and very well equipped. Lighthouse good for a meal out and pizzas at the White Hart recommended. Many thanks.
