Enjoying a prime spot, only 50 metres from Aldeburgh Beach, this traditional pastel-painted cottage is a wonderful base for a seaside holiday in Suffolk. Settle into one of the four spacious bedrooms, providing accommodation for up to six guests, and feel instantly at home. Dating back to 1830, the cottage boasts a wealth of characterful features inside, and a gorgeous walled garden outside where you can lounge in the sunshine on warm days.
Head inside and unfurl in the cosy lounge, with its coal-effect fire; gather around the TV on the comfortable seating and catch up as a family. The kitchen, which has a door to the courtyard garden, is complete with all the essentials you'll need to make your family meals for the duration of your stay. And the dining room has ample space to enjoy your home-cooked delights. Upstairs, there are four bedrooms and one family bathroom. Two of the bedrooms are doubles, one is a single, and one is a single with a smaller bed which is more suited to a child. Outside, there are two courtyards to enjoy; one features an array of cottage-garden blooms and space for al fresco dining, and the other houses a WC.
Aldeburgh has plenty to offer and you won’t be short of things to do: browse the independent shops, eat at one of the friendly pubs or restaurants, and wander the different galleries. Head the 6 miles to Snape Maltings and appreciate the stunning Victorian buildings or 2 miles to Thorpeness for a slice of history. Thorpeness is a holiday destination dating back to the early 20th century, and it has kept its character through its houses, boating lake and golf course.
