The village of Theberton is just over 2.5 miles from the RSPB reserve at Minsmere, which is a delight for bird watchers. It provides easy access to the Suffolk Heritage Coast. with Dunwich and Southwold to the north and Aldeburgh to the south. The village has an interesting church and a traditional pub serving good food and a selection of real ales.

Woodpecker Cottage is an annexe to the owner's house in a quiet country location. An ideal country getaway, it is approached by a single track leafy lane, but not too far away from civilisation since the Therberton Red Lion and the Eastbridge Eel's Foot (both serving food) are within a half mile walk. Shop: 2 miles Pub: 0.5 miles
