Holiday homes in Dunwich

Stay at one of our self-catering holiday cottages in lovely Dunwich. Dunwich is one of Suffolk’s hidden gems. Located on the Suffolk coast, roughly midway between Southwold and Walberswick, and Aldeburgh and Thorpeness, Dunwich is a truly beautiful place with a very interesting past. Our Dunwich holiday properties offer some of the best views of the Suffolk coast and heaths, and combine beautiful original features with modern living. Dunwich, with its nature reserve and beach, is also the perfect spot for a dog-friendly holiday and many will be pleased to know that we have pet-friendly self-catering accommodation in the area so you can bring your four-legged friend along. Our Dunwich accommodation provides the perfect base for fabulous Suffolk holidays

Many will be surprised that the small coastal village of Dunwich was once the capital of a Saxon Kingdom and had a population one-sixth the size of London. Dunwich is often called the ‘Lost City of England’ because flooding led to its almost complete demise and reduced its population to just 100 people, leaving behind only the small village that stands today. The community-run Dunwich Museum has lots more information on Dunwich’s mysterious past. However, Dunwich’s best spot has to be its beach. Backed up by the breathtaking Dunwich Heath, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this remote bay has a truly magical feel to it. With so much to offer, in such a beautiful setting, why not book into our Dunwich accommodation for your next Suffolk adventure?
