Framlingham is a small market town that is rich in history and heritage. There is a 12th Century curtain-walled castle where Mary Tudor was proclaimed queen and historic Saint Michael's church. Framlingham College, is an imposing mock-gothic building overlooking the Mere, a lake which is a haven for wildlife. Aldeburgh on the Suffolk Heritage Coast is just 15 miles away and other places to visit include the beautiful villages of Constable Country, Minsmere bird reserve and Snape Maltings. There are a number of cycle routes and way-marked walks in the area and there is a good range of shops and places to eat in the town.
