Dunwich is an unspoilt coastal village with a mainly shingle beach. The Ship Inn serves good meals as does the Beach Cafe which is well known for its fish and chips - enjoyed best on the beach. Dunwich adjoins Dingle Marshes Nature Reserve, Dunwich Heath (cliff top is National Trust owned) and Minsmere RSPB is only three miles by foot. Southwold and Aldeburgh are both ten miles away. Trains and buses can be found four miles away at Darsham.

Apple Tree Cottage is a traditional Suffolk cottage situated in a wooded valley. The cottage is simply furnished and is ideal for exploring all that the Suffolk Heritage Coast has to offer. It can be booked together with Walnut Tree Cottage to make accommodation for 12 people in total. Shop : 2 miles Pub : 600 yards
