Get ready for a family holiday in Aldeburgh. This 18th-century property would suit a small group and their dog as a lovely base from which to enjoy the numerous activities offered by the town and surrounding area.

Upon entering the cottage, you’ll find a lounge with a coal-effect gas fire for those nippy evenings when you need a cosy place to relax. Enjoy your meals in the dining room, and notice the exposed beams, a relic of the building’s past. The kitchen, with its rustic flagstone floor, is ideally sized for your group and has everything you need for cooking up feasts or organising picnics. Head up the curved cottage-style staircase to find the bedrooms and a family bathroom. There’s a twin and a double, both comfortable and perfect for a good night’s rest. On sunny days, relax in the front garden sitting at the bistro set of garden furniture, or in the courtyard with the garden furniture and relaxers provided. You’ll have a gas BBQ for tasty treats, too.

Aldeburgh is a lovely spot for a holiday. The beach is about 200 metres away, and you can amble along it to spot the giant scallop sculpture. There are plenty of places selling fresh fish and chips, so you can take food to nibble on while you sit on the sand. You’ll see boutiques and art galleries around the town to explore. Thorpeness is 2 miles away and also worth a visit, plus you can walk along the beach to arrive. Alternatively, try the opposite direction to find the Snape Footpath (0.5 miles) which has gorgeous views and offers a wonderful walking tour of the region.

  • 2 bedrooms – 1 double, 1 twin

  • Parking: there is a large, secure paved area to the right-hand side of the property to accommodate 2 cars; access is through tight double gates from the High Street
  • Shop, pub, beach 0.1 miles
  • This property will be decorated for Christmas

A great cottage right in the heart of Aldeburgh. All the shops, restaurants and the beach are within easy walking distance. Having parking was a real bonus. Clean, tidy and very comfortable. Plenty to see and do in Aldeburgh itself and also in the general area within a short drive. If we came this way again we would certainly return here.

perhaps a few welcome items for when guests arrive; i know some in the past have provided some welcome items. couches small but upon reflection they fit the size of the room. the dining room had a long exposed nail in the wall, probably needs removing.

We had a really lovely week. The cottage is an easy walk to everything - beach, shops, cinema, theatre and restaurants. Sitting at the table in the garden with a coffee and a book was my favourite activity each day.

We had the most wonderful holiday at Dart Cottage. It is in a fabulous location, with wonderful restaurants within minutes of the front door and the beach 5 minutes stroll away. The cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay and felt the cottage was the perfect size for a couple with 2 labradors.

This is a fantastic location and the ability to park 3 cars in the drive is a huge bonus. It has great access to the beach and everything Aldeburgh has to offer. Like other properties in the centre of Aldeburgh we found it to be very warm at night, with little air circulation. Fans are provided to help with this.
