Close to the beach, overlooking the village green in Walberswick, this spacious cottage is perfect for an extended family group to enjoy a fantastic buckets and spades holiday. It has a pretty garden with a hot tub, and two furry family members are welcome to join you here. The property was originally two separate cottages, so can be split into two, interconnected units, sleeping four and six guests, if you prefer.
The large Victorian cottage has a relaxed chic style, with comfy furniture and soft furnishings. There are two charming sitting rooms where you’ll want to sit and chat, pop the TV on, or listen to music; both have cosy wood burners for chilly evenings. Each part of the house has a well-appointed kitchen for preparing meals, and there’s a wonderful dual aspect dining room with space for everyone to get together; it also has large bi-fold doors to the rear courtyard and secluded front garden allowing the complete al-fresco dining experience . There’s a handy cloakroom and a wet room you can access from outside on the ground floor, perfect for rinsing off after the beach and before jumping into the large Jacuzzi. The first floor on the left hand cottage houses a king-size bedroom with gorgeous antique furniture, a lovely, shower room and a pretty twin (or super-king) bedroom. The first floor of the right hand cottage houses a further king size bed, two singles and a double, as well as another shower room and a further bathroom. Outside, sit in the courtyard or the garden with a cuppa or a sundowner, have a big BBQ together, and relax in the luxurious hot tub.
Walberswick is the self-appointed capital of crabbing so you must have a go during your stay! Head to the sand and shingle beach, explore the nature reserve, which follows the River Blyth estuary and is home to otters, deer, and a wide range of bird species. Pop over the river by foot ferry to Southwold (1.5 miles) to visit the Pier, beaches, and promenade. Alternatively just relax in the Bell Inn (2 minutes walk away) or the Anchor (3 minutes walk away).
