Close to the beach, overlooking the village green in Walberswick, this spacious cottage is perfect for an extended family group to enjoy a fantastic buckets and spades holiday. It has a pretty garden with a hot tub, and two furry family members are welcome to join you here. The property was originally two separate cottages, so can be split into two, interconnected units, sleeping four and six guests, if you prefer.

The large Victorian cottage has a relaxed chic style, with comfy furniture and soft furnishings. There are two charming sitting rooms where you’ll want to sit and chat, pop the TV on, or listen to music; both have cosy wood burners for chilly evenings. Each part of the house has a well-appointed kitchen for preparing meals, and there’s a wonderful dual aspect dining room with space for everyone to get together; it also has large bi-fold doors to the rear courtyard and secluded front garden allowing the complete al-fresco dining experience . There’s a handy cloakroom and a wet room you can access from outside on the ground floor, perfect for rinsing off after the beach and before jumping into the large Jacuzzi. The first floor on the left hand cottage houses a king-size bedroom with gorgeous antique furniture, a lovely, shower room and a pretty twin (or super-king) bedroom. The first floor of the right hand cottage houses a further king size bed, two singles and a double, as well as another shower room and a further bathroom. Outside, sit in the courtyard or the garden with a cuppa or a sundowner, have a big BBQ together, and relax in the luxurious hot tub.

Walberswick is the self-appointed capital of crabbing so you must have a go during your stay! Head to the sand and shingle beach, explore the nature reserve, which follows the River Blyth estuary and is home to otters, deer, and a wide range of bird species. Pop over the river by foot ferry to Southwold (1.5 miles) to visit the Pier, beaches, and promenade.  Alternatively just relax in the Bell Inn (2 minutes walk away) or the Anchor (3 minutes walk away).

Not best for children due to so many rooms / doors /stairs no stair gates, odds and ends in the cottage and floors very creaky upstairs so not best when trying to sleep

Brilliant location for a beach holiday, the cottage is well equipped and sleeps plenty, although space wise it did feel a little cramped with 8 adults and 3 children!

A well stocked very spacious property in a lovely location. The dining room with its dual aspect folding doors creates a lovely space for eating and family time. The information in the property could do with updating and being a little more detailed. Sadly the rugs and chairs were unacceptably dirty and not what you would expect from a property oRead moref this calibre. Hide

The perfect choice for a relaxing 50th birthday weekend with friends. Flexible living and sleeping space and lovely outdoor areas to enjoy the fresh air. Hot tub was a fun bonus! Incredible location overlooking the pretty village green, easy walking distance to great pubs, beach and village shop. Spotlessly clean, and a thoughtful welcome basket ofRead more snacks and staples was much appreciated. Would definitely stay again. Hide

Vine Cottage was lovely and in the perfect location for our multi-generational family Christmas. It was wonderful being only 100 steps from The Bell pub and 5 minutes from the beach. The cottage was cosy and welcoming, with very comfortable beds, great bathrooms and the bonus of a hot tub! Easy parking too.

Vine Cottage is just what we hoped it would be. Its large enough for all eleven of us ( eight adults, two children and a baby) plus two Labradors, to be together. Both the house and the garden are well equipped. We loved the hot tub. In the house we really appreciated having two fully equipped kitchens, including two fridge freezers and two dishwRead moreashers. The dining area was big enough for us all to eat together. There are two sitting rooms so one turned into a play room. The bedrooms were clean and attractive. The beds were comfortable. A great advantage, because of the children and dogs, was that upstairs is accessed by stairs with doors that can be closed. Its just a stones throw from beautiful Walberswick beach, with its crabbing bridges. On the green there is a small play park for the little ones and several shops just a stroll away. We ate at The Anchor and the cafe, which were both enjoyable. A high spot was the ferry across the river to Southwold where we ate at the Harbour Inn and strolled into the town, returning along the beach. We thoroughly recommend Vine Cottage for a delightful break. Hide

No central heating boiler for the old part of the house, and the weather was unseasonably cold. Lots of bed spaces but - honestly - the price was about 25% too high for the quality of the offer (e.g. mattresses, furniture, bedding, decor) even allowing for half term. Very well equipped kitchen but table- and cooking-equipment was not evenly distriRead morebuted between the two kitchens which made for lots of walking. Lots of towels, which was welcome. Lovely location. Nice garden. Contribution of Original Cottages is not measurable or relevant - the booking was made with Suffolk Secrets. Hide
