Escape to East Anglia and explore both Suffolk’s Heritage Coast and the delights of Norfolk from this charmingly converted barn. A wonderful couple’s escape, it features an open-plan design with a super-king-size bed, plus a private terrace for al fresco drinks and dining.
The original features of this lovely farm building - brick half-walls and exposed beams - have been utilised with great skill in order to create a delightful rural getaway for two. Comfort and style combine in the open-plan space, which combines a well-designed kitchen, a dining table, a relaxing lounge area with a leather sofa and a TV/DVD and – beyond the half-wall – a super-king-size bedroom. There’s underfloor heating throughout for cosy toes in the cooler months, and the bed can be made up as two singles if requested in advance. Completing the interior is a sleek, en-suite shower room. The property is one of a complex of four and, as an added bonus, you may use a shared games barn where there’s a TV, pool, table football and more. In terms of outdoor space, your private, gravelled terrace is equipped with a table and chairs so you can sip a coffee, sit back with a sundowner or enjoy a meal in the fresh air as you take in the beautiful views.
The Waveney Valley is dotted with picturesque villages and lovely market towns, including the village of All Saints South Elmham, where the barn is located. Halesworth – for traditional shopping and historic buildings – is only 5 miles away, while Beccles is 11.5 miles, where you can hire a boat and glide along the waters of the unique Norfolk Broads. For a day at the seaside, popular Southwold is 13.5 miles, as is the long stretch of shingle beach at Dunwich, where there’s a National Trust tearoom.
