"Loved the cottage, waking up in the morning to views of the river, wildlife in the garden, peace, perfect peace. Just don't expect an immaculate home if you go, it's old, it's quirky, nothing is straight and please mind your head". - Judith Telford
This picturesque cottage sits on a secluded lane in the Suffolk countryside. Sleeping five guests, it’s the perfect rural bolthole for families and groups of friends looking to switch off and relax in beautiful surroundings. The area is a paradise for walkers, with multiple routes directly from the front door, including along the River Deben. The market town of Woodbridge is 8 miles away, and you’ll also be just over 20 miles from the sandy beaches of the Suffolk coast.
The adorable holiday home is full of character, with exposed beams and stonework, and is decorated and furnished in a style that’s in keeping with the original property. Prepare family meals in the farmhouse-style kitchen and gather around the table next to the wood burner in the dining room. After dinner, relax in the inviting lounge to watch TV and share stories around the open fire. A handy shower room and utility room complete the ground floor. Upstairs, three beautiful bedrooms are set in the eaves (just watch out for the restricted head height in some areas); choose from a single and two doubles (one of which is accessed via the single bedroom). The extensive garden is predominantly laid to lawn, with a sheltered patio for al fresco dining.
Spend a relaxing afternoon wandering amongst the narrow, Georgian streets in Woodbridge, where you’ll find a great range of independent shops and eateries. The town also hosts a popular farmers’ market. Just outside Woodbridge is the intriguing archaeological site of Sutton Hoo – a must for any history enthusiasts. Snape Maltings (18 miles) also makes a great day out. As well as having an exceptional collection of boutiques and galleries, the complex hosts music events and is surrounded by breathtaking landscapes which you can explore on foot, bike, and boat.
