Property code: OC-CSN2

An attractive period cottage with a lush, planted garden, perched on an historic street in the heart of Woodbridge. This charming hideaway is perfect for couples, families with older children or a small group of friends seeking a retreat in the tranquil Suffolk countryside. Explore the art galleries, shops, pubs and restaurants in town from this fantastic location close to the market square. Visit the famous Tide Mill, one of Suffolk’s most iconic buildings, a 0.5 mile walk away on the banks of the River Deben.

This beautifully restored property boasts a tasteful blend of traditional period features and contemporary flair. Be lulled into the cosy lounge by the wood burner then curl in an armchair to thumb through a novel or stretch out on the deep leather sofa. Cook up a hearty supper in the bright shaker kitchen with glossy stone worktops. With full glasses, gather around the intimate dining table for a celebratory feast. Indulge in a relaxing rinse in the sleek bathroom before retreating upstairs to the bedrooms. Doze off in the inviting twin beneath the sloped ceiling or climb into the soft sheets of the generous-sized king room. In the morning, brew a coffee then climb up the garden steps to sip surrounded by mature shrubs and fragrant flowers.

Explore the stunning area on foot on one of the many local rural walks, including the trails around Rendlesham Forest, where wildlife sightings are common. Head out to discover the area’s gorgeous coastal resorts and beaches; Orford is just 12 miles away and Aldeburgh 16 miles.

A beautiful cottage and very well appointed. Just two downsides - the steep steps up to floors 1 and 2, combined with a bathroom on the ground floor ( tricky to negotiate in the night) makes this unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues, and, the on- street parking is challenging.

We love Wren Cottage. Owners have renovated and equipped it to a high standard. It feels like a home from home.

Well equipped cottage very nicely done up in central Woodbridge. Seckford Street is one of the nicest streets in Woodbridge with lovely interesting architecture. An old and quirky cottage sympathetically restored. We really enjoyed our short stay.

The steepness of the stairs needs to be better emphasised. The twin bedroom would not be suitable for children younger than 4 or so (in my view, at present) as theres no way of securing the stairs at the top to stop children attempting to go down them from the bedroom at night (similarly with the first floor). A note on the back door about the firsRead moret half of the garden being next doors might be helpful too as its not apparent until reading the (very comprehensive!) information about the property. Otherwise, this was a really lovely cottage and we had a fantastic stay. Hide

An exceptional location with proximity to the wonderful church and Market Hill enhanced my experience. The restful decor and furnishing contributes to a feeling of comfort, with original artwork making it memorable. The garden is delightful. The owners are welcoming and notably generous with the heating during my chilly March stay.

We were extremely impressed with the cottage. It had everything we needed, all the rooms had the equipment we wanted and it was so convenient for the railway station and of course the very attractive town centre of Woodbridge. An extra bonus was the close proximity of so many charming old pubs and restaurants
