More information about this Cottage.

Aldeburgh and the surrounding area has inspired many authors and poets in the past but the most famous son of the town is Benjamin Britten who founded the Aldeburgh Music Festival which now has worldwide acclaim and is held every year in June at Snape Maltings. Fishermen still pull their colourful boats up on the shingle beach and sell fresh fish from the picturesque huts. The wide, mainly Georgian high street has many attractive buildings whilst the seafront properties all have commanding views of the beach and the North Sea. Boating is popular on the nearby Alde estuary where a large variety of yachts can be seen at summer weekends.

Moot Green House is not only an elegant and comfortable seaside home, but also a landmark building in historic Aldeburgh. Part of an imposing Edwardian seafront terrace, the entrance of this beautiful house overlooks the 16th century Moot Hall, once the centre of this ancient and bustling Suffolk town. The house is split into two apartments: Moot Green House is the ground floor and half of the first floor. With its stunning views it offers not only rest and contemplation but also inspiration. The property next door was the home of Benjamin Britten and Peter Pears from 1947-57 and it was here, overlooking the sea, that Britten composed some of his finest works.  Just outside the door, on Moot Green, children can enjoy the simple pleasures of the boating pond while the adults can plan their seafront walk to purchase the catch of the day.  There is plenty to do in and around Aldeburgh, and Moot Green House will always provide you with a warm welcome on your return.
