Friston village has a large central green with many footpaths around the village.  The Chequers pub in Friston serves a good range of quality food.  Only four miles away is the unspoilt coastal town of Aldeburgh, or the idyllic rural beach at Thorpeness.  Also just four miles away is the famous RSPB sanctuary at Minsmere.  Snape Maltings is just three mile away, a waterside venue for unique speciality shops and the famous Snape Maltings Concert Hall.  Snape Maltings offers good food and unique walks alongside reed beds and the tidal estuary.

At Manor Farm you can enjoy the best of country life on a real working farm. The farm is approached via a private drive with well wooded countryside and horses grazing alongside. These are superb stable conversions and ideal for larger groups if taken together. In addition, a horse livery is available on site and special rates are avilable for guests wishing to bring their ponies/horses. The livery includes a menage and there are miles of farm tracks to be explored on horseback. Part of the Victorian farm buildings, the cottages are self-contained and set away from the farmhouse. You will normally be able to see plenty of livestock and other farm activities. Coarse fishing is available on the farm pond and there is use of the family's hard tennis court and a lawned football area. Kingfisher Cottage (sleeps 4), Swallow Cottage (sleeps 4), Avocet Cottage (sleeps 2) and Heron Cottage (sleeps 2) are all part of a luxury stable conversion - ideal for larger groups if taken together.
