North of Aldeburgh our Thorpeness holiday lets can be found. Originally a small fishing hamlet and a route for smugglers into East Anglia, Thorpeness was developed as a private resort by Scotsman Glencairn Stuart Ogilvie in 1910, complete with quirky mock Tudor architecture and a country club, golf club and boating lake this truly is a delightful location for a seaside holiday on the Suffolk coast!
Nearby is the North Warren RSPB reserve, a Site of Special Scientific Interest where visitors can explore a mixture of heathland, reed bed and coastal grazing marshes a fantastic location for a wildlife self-catering retreat!
